Taylor, Ervine, Williams Return Scotland
Brendan Taylor, Craig Ervine, and Sean Williams, Zimbabwe’s seasoned three, have returned for the tour of Ireland and Scotland. From August 27 to September 15, Zimbabwe will play five T20Is and three ODIs against Ireland before heading to Scotland for three more T20Is.
Rested for the T20I home series against Bangladesh
Taylor was rested for the T20I series against Bangladesh at home, while Ervine and Williams were forced to sit out the one-off Test, three ODIs, and three T20Is after coming into touch with someone who had COVID-19. The remaining 15 players that played against Bangladesh have been retained by the selectors.
The three One-Day Internationals versus Ireland will be part of the International Cricket Council’s ODI Super League. With only one win in six games, Zimbabwe is at the bottom of the table. While Zimbabwe will rely on its seasoned players, Wesley Madhevere, who scored 150 runs in three T20I matches against Bangladesh, will be held in high regard.
In the second game, he hit 73 runs to lead Zimbabwe to their sole win on the tour. Blessing Muzarabani will lead the bowling attack, with Luke Jongwe set to play a key role as well.
