The Match between India and England in Pune received green signal from Maharashtra state government that will be held March 23, 26 and 28 will be behind closed doors due to Covid-19 cases In the state rises.

“Keeping the seriousness of the current spike in Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra, after inputs from the Honourable Chief Minister, it was decided that permission will be granted for these matches without spectators,” the Maharashtra Cricket Association stated

The following decisions coming Maharashtra Cricket Association President Vikas Kakatkar, with the Mumbai Cricket Association’s Governing Council chairman Milind Narvekar and Marashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and the tourism and Environment Minister Aditya Thackeray.

England and Indians will be heading to Pune for the one-day series following completion of five T20’s which schedule in Ahmeddabad following the fourth test between them.

The chief minister requested the President of Maharashtra Cricket Association to take all necessary precautions and protocols regarding players and officials of the game.

The cricket board said to the chief minister to take all necessary protocols of global pandemic with the players and officials joining the game in Pune.
