17 Boards Have Expressed Interest
The International Cricket Council (ICC) recently announced that 17 boards have expressed interest in hosting events between 2024 and2031, with submissions coming from Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, Ireland, Malaysia, Namibia, New Zealand, Oman, Pakistan, Scotland, South Africa, Sri Lanka, the West Indies, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, and Zimbabwe. The bids were to be submitted by June 30.
Independent Board-appointed committee
The ICC will examine the suggestions in detail and make a decision before the end of the year, with a final decision made by an independent Board-appointed committee. Before a decision is made, a number of considerations will be considered.
Infrastructure, organization, expertise hosting global events, the growth of the game, sustainability, security, the vision for the event, and commercial dynamics are among the aspects being considered, according to sources.
