INDvsENG,1st Test: India’s Day As Pacers Bundle England Out
India was the happier side at the end of Day 1 of the first Test against England, as KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma guided them to victory without losing any wickets. India was 21 for no loss after the Indian pacers bowled England out for 183, with Rohit Sharma batting at 9 and KL Rahul at 9.
England captain Joe Root had previously won the toss and elected to bat. India’s pacers, on the other hand, bowled with consistency and continued to pick away at the hosts. Mohammed Shami took three, while Jasprit Bumrah had four.
Shardul Thakur was also crucial, taking two wickets in one over, including that of Root, the dangerous batsman. Root struck a superb 64, but with wickets falling all around him, he was unable to continue. Sam Curran’s unbeaten 27 off 37 deliveries gave England some much-needed runs down the order, but no other batsman could get going, with Jonny Bairstow’s 29 and Zac Crawley’s 27 being the only other notable contributions.
