England’s T20I Regulars Return and completed Isolation

After completing their mandated time of self-isolation following a Covid-19 outbreak in the squad before the ODI series, England’s white-ball regulars, including skipper Eoin Morgan, have returned for the T20I series against Pakistan.

The top performers from the ODI leg

Lewis Gregory, Jake Ball, Saqib Mahmood, and Matt Parkinson have all been named to the 16-man T20I squad from the ODI leg. Stokes, on the other hand, has been given a break. Chris Woakes, Sam Curran, Mark Wood, Liam Dawson, and Sam Billings were also absent from the T20I side that faced Sri Lanka.

The Exciting Depth of Talent

“The Royal London Series success against Pakistan showcased the exciting depth of talent we have developed in men’s white-ball cricket,” Silverwood said. “We have selected a T20 squad that sees the return of many of our most experienced players after their period of isolation. Additionally, we have rewarded some of the players involved in the 50-over series win with the selection which allows us to manage multi-format players as we prepare for the much-anticipated Test series against India.

“I would like to express my thanks to Ben Stokes and the players for their efforts over the last week, and the counties for their support in getting this series on.”
