England seeks consistency after the third umpire rushed decisions. England’s complain were not necessary about the decision but the speed at which they given the fact that Shamshuddin chose not to review any additional camera angles for each incident seems frustrating to the tourist.
First scene was a low slip catch by Ben Foakes from Shubman in the second over and the second scene was a stumping attempt by Ben Foakes against Rohit Sharma who had 53 on his name.
Root spokes the Referee
England captain Joe Root spoken to the match referee Javagal Srinath after the first day of the Third Test in Ahmedabad to ask for more consistency on the third umpire process.
Shamshuddin gave both decisions not out after looking on only one camera angle of each incident. The stokes catch appeared to be the right decisions the ball hit the ground and the Foakes stump was a close call as Sharma looked his foot in the very close time when the ball comes.
Reviewed the Replays
Root stump on the microphone asking the field umpires for consistency, the third umpire reviewed multiple angles and replays of the game from Jack Leach before to give a left-hander out.
“The captain and head coach acknowledged the challenges the umpires face and asked respectfully that in making decisions there was a consistency in the process. The match referee said the captain was asking the right question of the umpires” England Cricket Team spokesperson said.
Zak second the motion
Zack Crawley admitted that the incidents had been frustrating to the tourist.
“When we batted, Jack Leach had a similar one where it didn’t quite carry, and it seemed like they at it five or six different angles” Zak Crawley said.
“When we were fielding they looked at it from one angle. That’s probably where the frustration lies. I can’t say whether they were out or not out but I think the frustration was not checking four or five angles.” He added
