BCB announced pay hike for Women Cricketers

The Bangladesh Cricket Board has decided to raise the salaries and match costs for contracted national women cricketers. The BCB was previously rumored to be considering the same option.

Wing Chairman Nadel Chowdhury Agreed the Development

Nadel Chowdhury, chairperson of the BCB’s women’s wing, verified the news, saying that the board approved a 20 percent compensation increase for contracted women cricketers at the most recent board meeting on June 15.

‘We have increased the salary of the women cricketers by 20 percent and they will receive their salary in the new pay scale from this month (July),” said Shafiul.

“Earlier they (women cricketers) used to get 100 USD and 75 USD as match fees respectively for ODIs and T20Is,” he said.

The BCB has awarded national contracts to 22 female cricketers, who have been divided into four categories. They will now receive BDT 60000 (A category), BDT 48000 (B category), BDT 36000 (C category), and BDT 25000 as a result of the 20% pay rise (D category).
